The Year in London

London through the eyes of an MA student new to the city

The delights of Itsu

Great fast-food sushi place with healthy hot and chilled meals.

After a long day at university today, with an especially intense seminar on German art in the morning, I stopped off at the Itsu on Tottenham Court Road parallel to UCL and just a few minutes away from Warren Tube Station. Their 7 Veg Hotpot (Potsu) instantly revived me. Portions are large and prices for hot meals are just under £5 each, which I reckon is pretty good going. Classic chilled sushi pieces are relatively more expensive though. The restaurant is fun with high tables and lots of places to sit outside each individually lit with candles.

I first discovered Itsu on The Strand over the summer (it is a larger one than the Itsu near UCL), and have been on the lookout for more of their sushi restaurants ever since moving to London this autumn. So glad to find one just round the corner from my university!

This interior is actually the upper level of the Itsu on the Strand - a brilliant place for people watching by the large glass windows!

  1. I love Itsu! You should check out Wagamama and Yo Sushi near the Royal Festival Hall! 😀

    • It is fab! Thanks for the suggestions – I love the Southbank, so will definitely try to check them out sometime! .. not sure what Wasabi is like but it seems pretty popular too..
