The Year in London

London through the eyes of an MA student new to the city

Blackstock Road, Finsbury Park

The quest for accommodation in London was broken up with an exploration of Blackstock Road in Finsbury Park.

This is such a quirky road, with graffiti, interesting shop fronts or signs and a great mix of food and culture.

This hardware shop had one of the most eye-catching shop signs.

The cafe that my companion and I stopped at for lunch and a much needed energy boost was called ‘Good for Food’ and was really delicious. The bread didn’t have any gluten in it – and to my surprise, it was extremely tasty (and filling!) The drizzle of olive oil added an extra flavour and enhanced the whole dish.
